Bernadette Peters (born Bernadette Lazzara on February 28 1948) was an American performer and actress as well as a children's author who hails from Ozone Park Queens New York . She has for her career of five decades, appeared in films, TV shows as well as solo shows. She is one of the most critically acclaimed Broadway performers.
